Our Mission

UniThrive is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It is our aim to connect people to students through meaningful financial relationships, allowing students to attend their dream college without incurring massive debt. Everyone has the power to make a difference.

Our Beliefs

  • Fairness: Every student deserves the opportunity to attend the college of their choice regardless of their socioeconomic status
  • Personal Connections: Direct financial relationships create more value for everyone than traditional methods to finance a college education
  • Everyone Can and Should Embrace and Drive Change

How does UniThrive work?

Overview

Students connect with potential benefactors through UniThrive's online community. For loans, registered users search for students they want to lend to and pledge as much or as little money as they are willing. Lenders can put a face to their contribution. Students pay back the loans after graduation. All funds are disbursed directly to the student's tuition account a their university.

Our Loans

Our loans are the strongest value proposition the student loan market has ever seen. Students can request one loan per semester ranging anywhere from $500 to $2,000. The UniThrive platform is multiple-to-one, allowing as many lenders as are willing to pledge money towards a student’s loan request. For instance, 5 lenders could pledge $200 each to fulfill a $1,000 loan request.

UniThrive loans are a fixed interest-rate fully amortized over 5-years.  Students begin repaying the January following their graduation from college in quarterly installments over a 5-year maturity. Both lenders and borrowers sign a Promissory Note at the outset of the loan, making the transaction a legally binding contract.

Updates

One of our core beliefs is Personal Connections. Through UniThrive, students will update their contributing lenders on a regular basis. Lenders will receive a brief update from their students 5 times a year.

We completely understand that the desired degree of contact will vary for each individual and have made UniThrive flexible enough to be individually customizable with regards to lender-student interactions.

Privacy & Security

We value your privacy completely and would never do anything to violate it. Please consult our Privacy Policy for full details.

Fraud

Money lent to students never reaches their hands, thereby precluding the chance for fraud. UniThrive transfers funds directly from lender bank accounts and/or credit cards to the tuition office at universities.
